Kevin Costner revealed the one and only time he was "high" while filming on set for his 2016 film Hidden Figures, having been suffering from kidney stones at the end of filming.

The actor recounted his experience to People, telling the outlet, "I've never worked drunk on a set. I've never worked high on a set, but I was on morphine the last two weeks that I worked on [Hidden Figures]."

Costner took on the role of NASA bigwig Al Harrison in the film, which tells the true story of three female African-American mathematicians: Katherine Goble Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, who worked at NASA during the Space Race.

The 69-year-old shared that he worked the last 10 days on set under an IV drip. "I don't even know how. About three days of it I was normal and then something happened to me," he said.

"I sat in my trailer with a morphine drip in my arm", the actor – who is known for his work ethic – shared, adding that despite the health setback he "never missed a day of work."

It came to a point where he had to keep his sleeves rolled down while filming to hide the IV bruising, while everybody else had theirs up.

"I wanted to cry, but there was everybody watching, so I didn't," he said of the painful experience.

The actor also recently spoke about his high-profile divorce from his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner after eighteen years of marriage.
