Papa, don't preach.

She's the middle child of rock 'n' roll royalty, but for Kelly Osbourne, life has been anything but glamorous.

In her upcoming memoir, There Is No F*cking Secret: Letters From a Badass Bitch, the 32-year-old recounts her struggle with drug addiction, as well as the terrifying day she witnessed her father overdose while her cancer-stricken mother had a seizure.

"[One night] Mum had a seizure,” Kelly wrote. "I finally called for an ambulance, and together with the idiot nurse, we got Mum stabilised."

It was 2002, and Sharon Osbourne was fighting stage-three colorectal cancer. It would later surface that Ozzy Osbourne, who was finding his wife's diagnosis particularly hard to deal with, turned to drugs as a way to cope.

On the night of the seizure however, as Kelly recalls, Ozzy's behaviour was particularly worrisome.

"Dad was there in his boxers, and I watched him scoop his hand into a bowl of pills, swallow a handful of something, and then wash it down with vodka, like it was water and he was dying of thirst," she wrote.

As a then 19-year-old Kelly and Ozzy accompanied Sharon in the ambulance, the effects of the pills her dad had consumed took hold.

"[Dad] leaned over to and put his hand out to see if Mum was breathing,” she wrote. "Then he passed out with his hand over her mouth, and it looked like he was trying to kill her."

Thankfully, the ambulance officers were able to get him off Sharon, but they wanted to call the police as they were concerned over his behaviour.
