Controversial reality TV star Kelly Dodd and her reporter husband, Rick Leventhal, have come under fire for their Halloween costumes.

A photo the former Fox News correspondent shared on Instagram yesterday showed Dodd — an axed Real Housewives of Orange County star — paying tribute to her Native American roots, while he dressed up as Alec Baldwin on the set of Rust for Halloween.

"Kelly celebrated her Native American heritage & I celebrated the great American film actor Alec Baldwin #happyhalloween," the 61-year-old captioned two photos, one of which shows 46-year-old Dodd holding the gun to her head.

The costume was clearly inspired by the tragic events that transpired on the New Mexico set of Rust last month when Baldwin unknowingly fired a gun filled with live ammunition, which subsequently killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.

The internet was not impressed with Leventhal and Dodd's costumes, with many social media users expressing their disgust online.

Another user was equally in disbelief, writing: "I always defend you both, but hard to find dressing up as Alec funny when a young woman's life was cut short and a young boy is now without his mum." And yet another commenter wrote, "A horrific thing happened on set and you think Halloween is the time to display such disrespect."

Leventhal — who left Fox News in June after more than two decades at the network — has since defended their choice of outfit.

"You two have no class. Your [sic] perfect for each other," one Instagram user wrote, while another said, "So disappointed in the Alex Baldwin comment. It was not his fault and a family lost their mother and wife. So disrespectful."

"In no way was I trying to offend anyone, except Alec Baldwin. He's a jerk and deserves all the heat he's getting," he said, as reported by TMZ.

"If Baldwin is anti-gun why is he waving them around in movies and pointing them at people and pulling the trigger? Focus your anger at him and the hypocrisy of that industry."

His wife of one year, Dodd, is no stranger to controversy. She was unceremoniously fired from the RHOC back in June, leaving her "blindsided".

"I said, 'Well, why? Was it political?' and he said, 'No. Bravo wanted to take a different direction than you,'" she recalled while a guest on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live at the time.

"Listen, ultimately I got fired because of myself. I'm the one who got myself fired. I was like Howard Stern with WNBC. I had the executives calling me … I was causing them a lot of grief. I was causing them a lot of trouble."
