Katherine Jackson, mother of Michael Jackson, granted restraining order against nephew

Katherine Jackson, the mother of late pop icon Michael Jackson, claims she has been subjected to years of elder abuse by her nephew and personal driver, Trent Lamar Jackson.

People reports that Katherine, 86, filed court documents alleging that Trent had accessed her bank accounts without her permission and made unauthorized personal purchases with her credit cards. She claimed years of mental abuse have left her "in a constant state of fear and confusion."

Trent, who is Katherine's nephew through marriage, is further described as "an abusive con-man" whose intentions were to "assume control of her finances," according to the documents.

Katherine said she tried to throw Trent out of her guest house, but he refused to leave. She stated that she was "afraid to go home with Trent there" and "fears he could physically harm her for terminating him." She is currently in London visiting daughter Janet Jackson.

A judge granted a restraining order against Trent and ordered he vacate the property.

A hearing date has been set for March 1.
