Justin Bieber is concentrating on being a 'good husband and future dad'

Justin Bieber is focused on becoming a "good husband and future dad".

The 'Baby' singer, 26, opened up about his past "insecurities" in a lengthy post on his Instagram story on Sunday.

"I came from a small town in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. I didn't have material things and was never motivated by money and fame," Bieber wrote. "I just loved music."

"But as I became a teenager I let my insecurities and frustrations dictate what I put my value in," he said of growing up in the spotlight.

He acknowledged how "ego and power" were at the centre of his relationships and his values have since changed.

"My values slowly started to change," he said. "I let ego and power takeover and my relationships suffered because of it."

"I want to be aware of my blind spots and learn from them. I want to be aware of my blind spots and learn from them."

"I want to walk in the plans god had for me and not try and do it on my own," he continued. "I want to give up my selfish desires daily so I can be a good husband and future dad."

"I'm grateful that I can walk with Jesus as he leads the way."

Bieber's celebrity friends chimed in on his post.

"Well said. Always learning and growing," Tom Brady commented. Meanwhile, Patrick Schwarzenegger responded with some heart emojis.

Since legally marrying Hailey Baldwin in September 2018 (they had their official ceremony a year later), Bieber has become more in touch with his religious beliefs.

Last month, he shared with fans the "special moment" he was baptised.

"This was one of [the] most special moments of my life," he captioned an Instagram photo on August 5. "Confessing our love and trust in Jesus publicly with our friends and family."

Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz, who performed Bieber's first baptism years ago, told GQ in a 2015 interview that he was happy to perform it after the singer told him, "I want to know Jesus."

"People say we cater to celebrities, and I say, yes, we do," Lentz said. "Celebrities deserve a relationship with God. Celebrities deserve a place to pray."
