People magazine has named Julia Roberts World's Most Beautiful Woman 2017, and the internet has some super-strong feelings about it.

This year marks Julia's fifth time taking the title -- her first was in 1991, and she last held it in 2010. Even as she remains a Hollywood icon, it appeared that, at least on social media, the general public questioned why the magazine bet on the Oscar-winner, 49, once again, and why the publication seemingly to disregard up-and-coming celebrity talent for the top spot.

Twitter was flooded Thursday with side-eyes and criticism calling out Julia as a "safe" choice. Some called for more diversity in women represented, with names like Priyanka Chopra, Rihanna and Beyoncè being circulated as worthy honorees.
