Gangster Johnny Depp gets violent and seriously ugly in full-length Black Mass trailer

Johnny Depp is terrifying as real-life criminal Whitey Bulger in the first full-length trailer for Black Mass.

In the clip above, Johnny beats up a bunch of dudes, wreaks havoc with a gun and does the most aggressive sit-ups we've ever seen.

Benedict Cumberbatch co-stars as Whitey's politician brother, while Joel Edgerton does his best Boston accent as a crooked FBI agent, but it's Johnny who steals the show with his freaky as hell attitude…and scary face.

Seriously, he's even more unrecognisable than he was in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas!

Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson also appears in the clip as Whitey's downtrodden lover.

Based on the 2001 book of the same name, Black Mass tells the story of the FBI's dodgy involvement in Boston gang dealings and hits Australian cinemas on September 17, 2015.
