Jimmy Kimmel's seven-year-old son Billy undergoes third open heart surgery
Jimmy Kimmel has revealed his youngest son underwent a third open heart surgery.
The late night television host shared his seven-year-old son Billy is "healthy" after his major surgery over the weekend at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Kimmel posted the health update to Instagram on Tuesday morning (AEDT) alongside a picture of his youngest child smiling in a hospital bed.

"We went into this experience with a lot of optimism and nearly as much fear and came out with a new valve inside a happy, healthy kid," Kimmel wrote.
The television host made a point to list the names of the surgeons, doctors and other medical staff who "came through for us with immeasurable kindness and expertise."
"Walking around this hospital, meeting parents at their most vulnerable, children in pain and the miracle workers who do everything in their considerable power to save them is a humbling experience," Kimmel continued.

The radio host highlighted the hospital's work for providing help to families "regardless of their ability to pay".
Kimmel then extended his thanks to his family and friends and the "loving strangers who took time to pray for and send positive energy to our baby".
The radio star gave a special shoutout to his other half – his second wife of over a decade, Molly – for "being stronger than is reasonable for any Mum to be".
The pair also share daughter Jane, nine. Kimmel has son Kevin, 30, and daughter Katie, 32, from his previous marriage to Gina Kimmel.
The father-of-four then wrote directly to his son Billy, calling him "the toughest (and funniest) 7 year-old we know."
"There are so many parents and children who aren't fortunate enough to go home after five days," he continued while encouraging his followers to "share you love, hearts and prayers with them".

"Nothing matters more than taking care of each other," he said, signing off the post "with love and gratitude".
Just last month Kimmel celebrated his son's seventh birthday on Instagram by sharing thanks for all the donations and messages the family had received.
Billy previously underwent two open heart surgeries after being born with a congenital heart condition in 2017.
The now seven-year-old underwent his first heart surgery days after being born and his second at just seven months old.
In 2022, Kimmel revealed his son still had one more surgery to go but was "doing great".
