Jessica Simpson is being mum-shamed for dying her daughter's hair

The mum-shamers were in full force yesterday as they slammed Jessica Simpson for dying her daughter's hair.

The singer shared a couple of photos of her little girl, Maxwell, during and after their salon visit in West Hollywood. In the pics, the seven-year-old looked excited as hairdressers turned the ends of her blonde hair into a sea of purple, pink and blue — just like her fave characters from the hit Disney franchise, Descendants. 

"Inspired by The Descendants #901girl #MAXIDREW," the proud mum-of-three captioned the photos on Instagram. 

But the internet wasn't having it, given Maxwell's young age. 

"Isn't she too young to have her hair dyed?" questioned one Instagram follower, while another wrote, "Why start ruining her hair so young?"

This isn't the first time Simpson has been called out by trolls for altering her daughter's hair. During Halloween in 2017, the singer also received backlash after it appeared she had dyed Maxwell's hair brown so she could dress up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast. 

That same year, Simpson was yet again called out, this time for her decision to share a photo of Maxwell posing in a bikini while riding a scooter.

It's not all hate for the pop star, though. With her latest mum-shaming saga, some followers were quick to defend her decision to dye Maxwell's hair.

"Seriously people need to stop getting your undies in a bunch. It's just hair. You can cut it and it grows back," one follower pointed out, while another said, "Beautiful! She's being a kid! You only live once!"

Maxwell's new hair did get the tick of approval from the official Descendants Instagram account.

"Looking good!" they commented.
