Jessica Hart welcomes first child with James Kirkham, reveals unusual baby name

Jessica Hart is finally a mum!

The Aussie model, 34, welcomed her first child, daughter Baby-Rae Kirkham, with fiancé James Kirkham, 36, on November 17. Hart exclusively revealed the news in a recent interview with People.

The model, who is now living in LA, later announced the news to her followers on Instagram, revealing her daughter's unusual name: Baby.

"11/17/2020 The day my life changed forever," she wrote via Instagram. "Meet our little angel, BABY. After 14 days past our "due date" and 28 hours of (hell) labour, Baby joined us earth side and I haven't stopped smiling since — according to James :) so grateful for this little soul.

"Baby is everything I ever imagined and so much more. Thank you for choosing us to be your parents, Baby. I promise we won't let you down."

Hart opened up to People about her life as a new mother, while also explaining the interesting meaning behind Baby's name.

"We're very much still in our little newborn bubble," she told the publication. "I don't know what's going on with the world at the moment. It's just me and her getting through each day. We're both learning together. It's really cool.

"I first heard [the name] in the movie Dirty Dancing and always thought I'd love to name my daughter Baby. I was hesitant to ask James about it at first but we just weren't landing on a name. Finally, probably a month before she was born, I said what about Baby, and he said, 'Oh my gosh, I love it.' It's felt right ever since."

Hart announced her pregnancy on September 4, with a selfie holding the positive pregnancy test.

"I WOKE UP LIKE THIS," she captioned the post. "We're so super duper excited about this awesome news, especially at this time and amongst the mainly bleak news out there. What a blessing. We're so unbelievably grateful and happy!"

Kirkham, a former NASCAR driver, also has a daughter — Wren, six — from a previous relationship.
