Jennifer Lawrence slams 'sexist' backlash over revealing Versace dress: 'Utterly ridiculous'
Jennifer Lawrence will wear what she wants, when she wants, thank you very much.
The 27-year-old actress slammed naysayers after she wore a revealing black Versace gown to the London photo call for her new thriller 'Red Sparrow' on Wednesday.
On social media, people had feelings about J. Law's sexy ensemble, which featured a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit, considering how chilly it was in London that day and how her gown was a stark contrast to the scarves and heavy coats her male co-stars wore.
"It must be about 3 degrees in London ATM, cold enough that the bloke actors have to wear coats and scarves to their press call and yet poor Jennifer Lawrence is wearing a small amount of fabric some might call a dress," one person tweeted.
Lawrence's clear decision not to cover up soon went viral, and of course, the outspoken Oscar winner wasn't going to bite her tongue about it.
"Wow. I don't really know where to get started on this 'Jennifer Lawrence wearing a revealing dress in the cold' controversy. This is not only utterly ridiculous, I am extremely offended,'" Lawrence began in a post Thursday on Facebook.
Instead, she said it was "creating silly distractions from real issues."
"Get a grip people. Everything you see me wear is my choice. And if I want to be cold, THAT'S MY CHOICE, TOO!"
Welp, there you have it, folks.
