Jenna Dewan files to drop Channing Tatum's last name

Jenna Dewan has petitioned to formally drop Channing Tatum's last name.

The move comes two years after the former couple confirmed their split after nearly nine years of marriage.

Dewan, 39, made the filing on Friday, February 7, per The Blast.

The actress is currently expecting her first child with Tony Award winner Steve Kazee.

Meanwhile, Tatum, also 39, has moved on with British pop star Jessie J.

Dewan and Tatum share one child, daughter Everly, six. In their April 2018 split announcement, the couple said they were on "different paths," yet remained best friends.

"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” Dewan wrote in an Instagram message of Tatum, whom she met on the set of 2006's Step Up.

"We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.

"There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realising it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible."
