'That was embarrassing': Jay Z's awkward TV throwback

Everybody's gotta start somewhere, and we all have questionable moments from our past that come back to haunt us.

Today's #ThursdayThrowback comes to us care of Jay Z, via talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, who surprised the rap superstar and business mogul with flashback footage from his very first TV appearance. Check it out above.

While 20-year-old Jay cuts some impressive freestyles in the 1990 episode of BET's Rap City, his 45-year-old self is totally embarrassed, not by his youthful rhyming flow but by his choice of outfit and haircut.

"It looked like you were going to play a round of golf after that," commented Kimmel.

Isn't that what ageing rich guys do? At least he's got his retirement outfit sorted.
