Jason Momoa says he can't start shooting Aquaman 2 because a 'bulldozer' ran over him

Jason Momoa says he's unable to start working on Aquaman 2 because he was "run over by a bulldozer."

The Hawaiian-born actor has been in Hawaii protesting a US$1.4 billion telescope project that is being constructed on top of a volcano that locals consider sacred.

Momoa says stopping the construction is "4x bigger" than "Aquaman 2."

"Sorry Warner Bros we can't shoot Aquaman 2," the 40-year-old former Game of Thrones star wrote on Instagram. "Because Jason got run over by a bulldozer trying to stop the desecration of his native land. THIS IS NOT HAPPENING. WE ARE NOT LETTING YOU DO THIS ANYMORE.

"Enough is enough. Go somewhere else. Repost. This is what telescope construction looks like (Subaru Telescope, 1992). The TMT will be four times larger on unscathed land. We must protect our scared mountain from further desecration."

Duane 'The Rock' Johnson has also been protesting the telescope.

Last month the 47-year-old actor visited the site and told Hawaii News Now, "Obviously, I've been following this for years now — more so as everything has been amping up more recently — but when you come here to Mauna Kea you realize it's bigger than a telescope."

"It's humanity. It's culture," added Johnson. "It is people, Polynesian people, who are willing to die here to protect this land. This is very sacred land."
