While hosting Palme d'Or Awards on Saturday, Fonda called up director Justine Triet who had won the award for Anatomy of the Fall, making her the third woman to ever do so.

After presenting a political speech criticising the reforms to French pension law which raises the age of retirement from 62 to 64, the winner accidentally left the scroll at the podium and began to head off the stage.

Fonda attempted to flag her down, but after multiple attempts of calling out to Triet, the 85-year-old actress opted to peg the scroll at the director's back.

Even when the scroll hit Triet in the back of the head and fell to the floor, she didn't appear to notice.

Twitter users praised the "Barbarella" star's move, calling her a "queen" with an "excellent shot."
