The Bachelor: A hot waiter who was fired from the show might have just spoiled the ending

A former waiter who worked on the set of this season's The Bachelor has potentially spoiled the finale, implying fan favourite Tara Pavlovic will be sent home without a rose.

Sydney-based Derek Reiter revealed he asked the Brisbane nanny out last week – ahead of this week's televised finale, which will see Matthew 'Matty J' Johnson pick between Tara, Laura Byrne, and Elise Stacy.

"We've been in contact," Derek told Woman's Day. "I even messaged her yesterday and asked if I could take her out."

While we're not sure if Tara agreed to 30-year-old's Derek's proposition, it certainly seems like she won't be the girl to win Matty's heart.

Derek was hired to work on the show as a waiter during the infamous Bachelor cocktail parties.

And he caught the eye of – and flirted with - a few of Matty's bachelorettes, including Tara, Elora Murger, Florence Alexandra Sophia, and Leah Costa.

"Tara continually flirted with the waiter to the point where she called Matty his name by accident at a cocktail party," an insider told Daily Mail Australia.

She also reportedly "slipped" Derek her number before a cocktail party.

Unfortunately for Derek, his flirting cost him his job.

"Two weeks after the flirting began, the waiter was fired after the girls were talking about him on camera," the spy said.

At least Tara has a fallback plan!
