Home and Away actor Ben Unwin dies aged 41

Former Home and Away actor Ben Unwin has tragically died at the age of 41.

NSW police confirmed his death in a statement to 9Honey Celebrity on Tuesday, but didn't give details on how he died.

"Police attended Minyon Falls, Whian Whian, responding to a concern for welfare," they said in the statement. "The body of a 41-year-old man was located. The death has not been treated as suspicious."

The actor reportedly died last week, a day short of his 42nd birthday.

Unwin played Jesse McGregor on the TV soap from 1996-2000. He then returned to the show from 2002 to 2005, working alongside alongside Lynne McGranger, Bec Cartwright, Kate Ritchie and Beau Brady.

Unwin also had roles in the TV shows Eggshells and G.P.

His role scored him a Logies nomination for Most Popular New Talent in 1997, and in 1999 he received nominations for Best Actor and Sexiest Male from the Inside Soap Awards.

After he left the TV show, Urwin completed a law degree and got a job working as a senior solicitor in Sydney.
