Heidi Klum reveals why she didn't text Drake back when he asked her on a date

Heidi Klum could have become one of Drake's famous muses if she hadn't turned him down in perhaps the most relatable way, ever.

The 45-year-old supermodel opened up about a missed connection with the 31-year-old 'In My Feelings' rapper on an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres show airing Tuesday in the US.

On a previous episode, The Project Runway alum played a game of "Would You Rather" with DeGeneres, where she name dropped Drake and actor Joaquin Phoenix. As it turns out, the Canadian star had seen the segment and was so smitten that he got Klum's phone number from a mutual friend and texted her.

But by then, it was too late, because Klum had met and fallen for her current boyfriend, 29-year-old German rock musician Tom Kaulitz.

"Sorry, Drake. You snooze, you lose. You know what I mean? He was basically like a week too late," she told DeGeneres. "Someone who I know knows him, and I guess he asked to have my number, and then he texted me."

So she did what anyone would probably do in the situation.

DeGeneres was in disbelief that the TV host didn't bother to return the rapper's text.

"I mean, what do you do?" Klum said. Turning straight to camera, she added, "I'm embarrassed about it. Drake, I'm sorry I didn't text you back. You're cool. I still love your music. I'll probably come to the concerts very soon."

To which, DeGeneres playfully said, "Yeah, well, you're not going to be able to get in."

Klum also addressed rumours that she was secretly engaged or married to Kaulitz, whom she met on February 22.

"No, we're not secretly anything," she revealed. "I mean we met what is now six-and-half-months ago, and I love him very much. He's German, too. Maybe that's the link I always was missing. I needed a German. I think we have the same roots and the same upbringing and the same understanding…"

She added, jokingly, "Or maybe he's the first man that actually understands what I'm talking about."
