Gwen Stefani confesses love for Blake Shelton, immediately wonders if 'that was dumb'

Well that "I love you" didn't go so smoothly.

But it's early days for Gwen Stefani and The Voice US co-coach Blake Shelton, so we'll forgive Gwen for this awkward moment.

The 46-year-old interrupted her fellow coach Adam Levine's Entertainment Tonight chat with a shout-out to her lover, 39-year-old country star Blake.

Adam cheekily told her "you screwed yourself on that one". Watch above!

It's only been a few weeks since Gwen and Blake went public, just months after their respective marriages ended (hers to Gavin Rossdale, his to country singer Miranda Lambert).

The couple are now happy taking their behind-the-scenes flirting to The Voice panel, as this clip shows:
