Gwen Stefani apologises to fans as she's forced to cancel show over mystery 'injury': 'I'm so sorry'

Gwen Stefani has been forced to pull out of a scheduled performance next weekend due to a mystery "injury".

The American singer, 54, shared a statement with fans on her Instagram stories, apologising for the cancellation of her Atlantic City show on August 17.

"As a result of a recent injury and in consultation with my doctors, I've been advised that I'm not able to perform on August 17 at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena in Atlantic City," Stefani wrote.

"I'm so sorry and we are planning to reschedule the show as soon as possible."

"Ticketmaster will email ticket holders as soon as the new show is announced. Current tickets will be valid for the new date."

It remains unclear what injury Stefani has.

The No Doubt rocker's upcoming shows include two shows in September, and one in October in Mexico.

It comes after the Hollaback Girl singer revealed she had some regret over working with No Doubt after having kids. She made the admission to Nylon.

She also said she felt bad if she didn't write a hit song after leaving her family to work.

"I'd be like, 'Oh my God … I didn't have dinner with my family, and I didn't write a song'" she explained.

"'I wasted an entire day of my life trying to be in No Doubt again.'"

However, the band, known for hits including Just a Girl and Hey Baby, recently reunited and thrilled crowds at Coachella earlier this year, with an impressive set. It even got rave reviews from music critics.
