Rami Malek had one of the greatest days ever, right until this unfortunate but very relatable moment.

On January 7, shortly after winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama for Bohemian Rhapsody, the 37-year-old was celebrating another accolade for the film after it won Best Motion Picture - Drama.

He, the cast and crew rushed on stage to accept the award, which Kidman, 51, was presenting.

As executive producers Graham King and Jim Beach stepped forward to say their thanks, Malek attempted to give Kidman a hug. Twice.

While rejected is probably a strong word -- Kidman didn't actually appear to notice Malek at all -- it was still incredibly awkward.

In fairness, Malek probably thought he was just saying hello to an old friend! He and Kidman hung out together at the AACTA International Awards earlier this week.

Still, after watching the on-stage moment today, viewers everywhere rushed to Twitter to talk about the extremely relatable feeling.

Sharing the clip online, one person summer it up perfectly.

"Rami Malek trying to talk to Nicole Kidman is like me trying to talk to my crush," they tweeted.

Another person likened the moment to any social situation ever.

"Rami Malek awkwardly and unsuccessfully trying to have a moment with Nicole Kidman is me trying to insert myself in groups and conversations at social events," tweeted the viewer.
