Back in 2023, the internet was abuzz with speculation about the relationship between Anyone But You co-stars Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney.

It was a classic case of castmates appearing to have fallen in love, except this time there was a catch – both Powell, 36, and Sweeney, 27, were in long-term relationships.

After the movie's release, the actors confirmed they had played into the rumours for publicity, claiming they were just friends, however both have since split from their former partners.

Now, in a new interview, Powell's ex-girlfriend Gigi Paris has shared what it was really like to be on the other side of one the biggest celebrity rumours in recent memory.

Paris appeared on the most recent episode of the Too Much podcast, never naming Powell or the film Anyone But You, but making it clear who she was talking about.

The model explained she flew to Australia, where the movie was filmed, to break up with her former partner amid cheating rumours.

Paris said she had told Powell she was concerned about the rumours and was happy to meet halfway, but she was met with the reasoning of "This is what I have to do for my job".

"I had two options, I could either pretend like I was going along with everything and have everyone wonder, 'Are they hooking up? Are they not hooking up? Is she OK with this?" Paris said.

"Or, [I could] stand up for myself and say, 'No I'm actually not OK with this. And I'm walking away', so that's what I decided to do."

The moment Paris knew that she had to end things was when she was preparing to fly to Australia to visit Powell, after organising a work visa and employment for herself while she was here, and she received a phone call.

"He called and said, 'The producers and I have discussed and I think it's best that you don't come to visit'," she said.

"That's when I hung up and I was like, 'This motherf---er is done to me'."

Despite being uninvited, Paris still made her way to Australia for her two-week trip, this time with a specific plan in mind.

"I went anyways just to look him in the eye and break up with him," she shared.

"But then I was stuck there for weeks doing my jobs and there was a rule I was not allowed near set, I was not allowed anywhere near production, it was very bizarre."

She said the breakup left her feeling "shattered", adding that all she had wanted was "respect" in her relationship.

"Don't make an ass out of me, like just don't make a fool out of someone you've been with for over three years, talking about forever with," she said.

"Just have some decency, you know, and at the end of the day it was like, 'Well, work comes first.'"
