George Clooney and Ben Affleck are teaming up again almost a decade after they won an Oscar for the film Argo, which they produced together.

The Best Picture winner was directed by Affleck, who this time around stars in the coming-of-age drama The Tender Bar, which Clooney directed.

Clooney, who walked the red carpet at the movie's London Film Festival premiere with wife Amal Clooney, tells 9Honey Celebrity what he enjoyed about working with Affleck again.

"Yeah, a different dynamic because I get to be his boss this time," Clooney joked.

"It was fun, he's a fun guy, he's smart and he really wanted to do this part, it was important to him to do and I get it, he loved it. And from the moment we got on the set it was fun."

While the pair enjoyed filming just outside of Boston earlier this year, Clooney says the experience of shooting a movie during the pandemic was a unique one.

"It's weird we're directing in the middle of a pandemic — you're wearing a shield and a mask and then you rip it off and you act for four minutes and then you slap it all back on. So, it was unusual but that's how we get along, we'll figure it out," he adds optimistically.

American Horror Story actress Lily Rabe stars as Dorothy Moehringer in the film, and tells 9Honey Celebrity working with both Clooney and Affleck during the pandemic was an uplifting experience.

"Ben and George are two of the funniest, most open-hearted, curious, collaborative artists that I've worked with," Rabe says.

"And they're such brilliant storytellers, both such brilliant directors, such brilliant actors but really having this be the story we got to tell it's so much about love and family and I can't imagine doing it with anyone else.

"When you're filming during a pandemic and you're all behind masks except when you're between action and cut, so that heightened intimacy they achieved I think really served to making this film, even though of course it would have been better in other circumstances of course I think given what we were dealing with, it was a wonderful story to be telling."

The Tender Bar already has Oscars buzz surrounding it just days after its world premiere in Los Angeles last week.
