When 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 premieres in Australia
Mark your calendars, Game of Thrones fans, because the premiere date for Season 8 has finally been revealed.
The eighth -- and final -- season of Game of Thrones will launch on Sunday, April 14 in the US, which means Monday, April 15 in Australia.
The exciting news was confirmed on Game of Thrones' social media accounts today.
The showrunners have kept plot points close to their chest, but the most recent teaser reveals Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meeting Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) for the first time in the show's run. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is also present for their introduction.

Game of Thrones' final season will have a shorter episode run, with only six episodes, but David Nutter, one of the show's directors, mentioned in a Reddit AMA that all six episodes will be longer than 60 minutes each.
"Season 8 episodes will all I think be longer than 60 minutes," Nutter said. "They’ll be dancing around the bigger numbers, I know that for sure." A press release confirms they will be "movie length episodes."
Based on the six-episode run, the final episode of Game of Thrones will air in Australia on Monday, May 20.
