Dax Shephard reveals how Game Of Thrones kept his marriage to Kristen Bell alive

It seems the secret for a happy marriage might be... dragons? At least that's according to Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell.

The longtime Hollywood couple, who have been married for six-years, are massive Game Of Thrones fans.

So much so that Shepard says it's the glue that has kept them together.

"I've been with that program for 10 years," he said during an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers. "It is the second-longest relationship I've had, besides Kristen... And she and I have been with it together, and I gotta say, I think it was the foundation of our friendship and marriage, yeah."

Shepard joked that the pair are "struggling now" after the conclusion of the eighth and final season.

"It can really get you through a couple hours together," he laughed. "Plus, we dress up and everything. All in all, we're probably in it for three or four hours on Sunday night. Yeah, we definitely are mourning the loss."

While red carpet premieres are usually a time for designer gowns and tuxedos, the pair showed their dedication to the HBO fantasy series back in 2016 by showing up dressed as the super fans that they are.

In matching 'Stark in the streets, Wildling in the sheets' singlets and fake Game Of Thrones tattoos, they stood out at the season six premiere.

Shepard and Bell first began dating in 2007, but held off getting married until California legalised same-sex marriage in 2013. They have two daughters: Lincoln, 6, and Delta, 4.

Now known for her roles in Frozen and Bad Moms, Bell first shot to fame on the teen noir Veronica Mars, which is about to be rebooted with a fourth season.
