Jono reveals truth about his relationship status after Married At First Sight finale: 'It's been up and down'

Is he or isn't he back with his ex? That's been the question everyone's been asking about Married At First Sight's season-two "villain" Jono Pittman.

Well, wonder no more. Jono, 28, revealed his current relationship status during a chat with Fitzy & Wippa.

"It's been a little bit of an up and down process since the show," he said. "I can say now I'm a hundred percent single."

So does that mean the new love he recently mentioned – the one many assumed may have been his pre-Married At First Sight girlfriend – has already gone the way of his MAFS wife Clare Verrall.

"I was trying to work things out with a certain person, but unfortunately that didn't work out, Jono added.

Hmm…that definitely sounds like a case of an ex to us. Six months before his MAFS stint, Jono broke up with someone he'd been seeing for two years.

Earlier in the interview, he talked about Clare, 32. Though he admitted that things got "a little bit ugly towards the end", he insisted that they parted on good terms.

"It's nothing that I hold grudges against," he said.

As for the dreaded "not what I ordered" comment, he clarified: "Clare isn't someone I'd normally go up to in a bar or in a pub or anywhere and have a conversation with. I'm not saying she's not an attractive girl...definitely not my type."
