Drew Barrymore compares her post-babies body to 'a kangaroo with a giant pouch'
Drew Barrymore must be one of Hollywood's most positive stars, but she isn't totally loving herself from head to toe these days.
The mum of two got candid with Glamour magazine about how having children has changed her body in unflattering ways.
"After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff!," the 39-year-old actress said. "It's hard to stay positive and love yourself.
"You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch. Everything's saggy and weird."
Despite the drooping, Drew says she has no regrets about having daughters Olive, 2, and Frankie, 11 months. (Their dad is Drew's husband, art consultant Will Kopelman.)
"You think about how beautiful it is that you're able to make children," she adds. "When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss's Oh, the Places You'll Go! and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself."
And if that doesn't work, she can find comfort - and a bit of an ego boost - in her favourite feature.
"My hair…It takes a licking and keeps on ticking," she says. "I destroy it time and time again, and it's still there, semi-happy.
"I love playing with it. It's like my personal plant - I keep getting to prune it."
