The first official Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer has dropped…and it's all about Girl Power

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has had a curious effect on his recent female co-stars.

The Danish Girl's Oscar winner Alicia Vikander is stepping into Angelina Jolie's boots as the new Lara Croft, and now his Oscar-nominated co-star in The Theory of Everything is owning the first official trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Yep, folks, the trailer for the anticipated stand-alone Star Wars movie is all about Felicity Jones.

The 32-year-old actress stars as a space warrior who undertakes a dangerous mission to infiltrate the Empire. That sure sounds a lot more dangerous that playing Stephen Hawking's supportive wife opposite an Oscar-winning Eddie.

So far social media reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with Felicity being singled out for high praise.

Clearly the Force is strong with Felicity.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit cinemas in December.
