Kate Winslet won't be joining the #OscarsSoWhite boycott…and it's because of Leonardo DiCaprio

Kate Winslet isn't planning to bring a plus-one to Will Smith's house during the February 28 Academy Awards.

The Steve Jobs Best Supporting Actress nominee explained why she won't be joining Will and his wife Jada's #OscarsSoWhite boycott at a screening for her latest movie Triple 9. It has a lot to do with a certain "closest friend" who's expected to finally win his first Oscar.

We all know who that is, right? Watch Kate explain her reasoning in the video above. Oh, and there's more to it than her Titanic co-star.

Leonardo DiCaprio, 41, is expected to finally take the Best Actor prize for his role in The Revenant, while Kate, 40, is thrilled just to be nominated.

But we can't help but think her own well-deserved nod has a lot to do with why we'll be seeing her on Oscar night.
