Nicki Minaj pays her brother's $100K bail after he's charged with allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl
Nicki Minaj can be tough on her fellow pop stars, but when it comes to family, it appears she's ride or die.
The New York Post reports that the 32-year-old rapper posted the $100K bail for her big brother Jelani Minaj, 37, after he was charged with raping a 12-year-old.
No details of the case have been released, but Nicki also put up her two homes in Baldwin, New York, as collateral to ensure that her brother remains in the jurisdiction. The alleged crime occurred on Long Island.
This isn't the first time this year that Nicki has shown her devotion to her brother with a grand gesture. She paid $30K for Jelani's wedding three months ago and posted a brother-and-sister photo on Instagram while gushing about their bond.
"I would cross the ocean for u," she wrote. "I would go & bring u the moon. Promise u. For u I will. I love my brother so much man.
"Can't believe I cried during his wedding and his first dance like a punk. May God bless him and his union. Tonight has been one of my favourite nights of all time. I do anything to see my brothers smile."
Clearly she approves of Jelani's marriage, but she's yet to comment on his arrest. That might change, though, after the famously combative star reads some of the things people are writing about her on Instagram for supporting her brother.
