Helen Mirren scolds 'oxygen-wasting cowards' who drive drunk…while sipping a beer
Dame Helen Mirren is doing her part to save lives this coming Super Bowl weekend.
The 70-year-old Oscar winner appears as herself in Budweiser's new Super Bowl 50 ad, and she has a few choice words for those "utterly useless, oxygen wasting" drunk drivers. Then she has a Budweiser.
Watch her colourful diatribe above.
The grand dame, who won an Academy Award for playing Elizabeth II in The Queen, isn't someone we'd normally expect to see downing a beer. And a beer company promoting sober driving?
They may not seem like obvious combos, but Anheuser-Busch, which produces Budweiser, sees things differently.
"To spark conversations about this vital issue on one of the biggest drinking occasions of the year, the brand has called upon actress Helen Mirren, with her mix of gravitas and charm, to demand that beer drinkers make a plan to get home safely," the company said in a statement.
Proving it's not just all talk, Anheuser-Busch will donate $1 to safe ride home programs each time the hashtag #GiveADamn is used on social media through midnight New York City time on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7.
