'Hey guys, guess what I just got in the bucket?': Shirtless 'Home Alone' star recreates his terrifying tarantula scene

It really is Christmas in July! In a new YouTube video, Daniel Stern – aka one-half of Home Alone's bumbling burglar duo – has a close encounter with a nemesis similar to the one he faced in the beloved 1990 holiday flick.

"Hey guys, guess what I just got in the bucket?" a shirtless Daniel asks while manoeuvring a covered orange container around his garage. "I hope I can show you without killing myself."

After much fanfare, the 58-year-old, who played Marv in the Macaulay Culkin classic, flips over the bucket to reveal its terrifying contents: a tarantula spider. Yep, just like the one Kevin McAllister unleashed on his would-be attackers.

Daniel even recreated his iconic movie scream – but stopped short of letting the insect anywhere near his face.

"People who meet me are always curious if the tarantula was real, if my scream was real, and if I was scared, crazy or both," Stern wrote of his infamous scene on Facebook last year. "The answer to all three of those questions is 'Yes.'"
