Emmys 2024: Full list of winners and nominees for the 76th Emmy Awards

Sarah Snook did Australia proud in January at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards, and now, months later, Australia is once again on the map.

At the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles' Peacock Theatre on Sunday night (Monday morning in Australia), The Crown star Elizabeth Debicki won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her turn as Princess Diana in the final series.

"I didn't write anything down because I am very superstitious and now I'm in a real pickle so I'm gonna do this quickly," Debicki, 34, said through tears as she took the stage after kissing her boyfriend Kristian Rasmussen in the crowd.

"Peter [Morgan, The Crown's showrunner], thank you," Debicki continued with her speech. "Thank you for making this show, and thank you for trusting me with this."

Debicki also thanked the show's producers as well as the hair and makeup and costume departments.

"Playing this part based on this unparalleled, incredible human being has been my great privilege, it has been a gift. Thank you, so very much."

Earlier this year, Debicki picked up a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award for the same role. It's the second time she's been nominated for an Emmy, but it's the first time she's won.

Fellow Australian Naomi Watts was also vying for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series for her role as Babe Paley in Feud: Capote vs The Swans, but the award ultimately went to Jodie Foster for True Detective: Night Country.

Meanwhile, Watts' husband Billy Crudup scored a win for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role in The Morning Show, known as Morning Wars in Australia.

He spent a majority of his acceptance speech gushing about his wife, Watts, and shouting out their children.

Shōgun, the series based on James Clavell's historical novel about political machinations in early 17th century Japan, led all nominees with 25, taking full advantage of the absence of last year's top three nominees – Succession, The White Lotus and The Last of Us – to dominate in drama. And it was one of the shows that cleaned up the most on the night.
