Emma Roberts arrested for 'domestic violence' against her boyfriend

Scream 4 star Emma Roberts has allegedly been arrested after leaving her boyfriend "bloodied" following an argument.

A spokesperson for the 22-year-old has confirmed the arrest, after Emma and boyfriend Evan Peters had a violent altercation in Montreal, Canada on July 7.

"It was an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding," her reps told Entertainment Tonight.

"Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."

Police were alerted after a loud argument was heard coming from the hotel room the couple were sharing.

Evan was reportedly sporting a bloody nose and a bite mark when police arrived, while Emma had no visible injuries.

Emma, who is the niece of acting legend Julia Roberts, was immediately taken into custody, however her boyfriend did not press charges.

The couple have been dating since last year, after meeting on the set of comedy flick Adult World.
