Ellie Goulding has shared some insight into her difficult relationship with her mother Tracey Goulding, admitting it is far from "fixable".

The 'Love Me Like You Do' singer, 33, who married Caspar Jopling in August last year, admitted to not having had any contact with her mother since the wedding.

"It's frustrating because I really want to talk to you about it. But she became quite threatening when I did talk about her in the press. Discussing her was a disaster," Goulding said in an interview with The Independent on July 20. "I haven't seen my mother since my wedding last year."

Goulding didn't hesitate to seek help in order to cope with the strained relationship.

"I've done a lot of therapy about it because what I thought was fixable isn't fixable."

Goulding's remarks come after her mother was embroiled in a heated exchange with TV personality Myles Stephenson.

"Didn't notice it so much on [the] jungle but what's with #myles #gmb trying to sound like a black dude??" she wrote to Twitter.

Stephenson responded: "Please tell me what a "black dude" sounds like Trace?"

Shortly after her tweet sparked backlash, she took down her Twitter account.

On August 31, 2019, Goulding married Jopling after two years of dating. The pair shared an extravagant and star-studded ceremony at York Minster, with guests including Princess Beatrice and Eugenie as well as Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom.

"Being married is still just like being boyfriend and girlfriend with my husband, we're like good mates," Goulding said of the nuptials at The Global Awards.
