Ellen DeGeneres has the best response about Donald Trump being invited on her show

Ellen DeGeneres has treated her popular daytime talk show as a welcoming place for everyone, but as it turns out, even she draws a line.

The 59-year-old comedian was interviewed by journalist Matt Lauer about her feelings about
US President Donald Trump. Asked if she knew him personally, she explained that they worked together briefly while he was promoting his reality series, Celebrity Apprentice, several years ago.

"I flew in his helicopter and did a bit with him, so I knew him then,"

she said. "I have not spoken to him since he’s run for president or become president."

Asked if she would ever invite President Trump on her show, she paused before admitting that no, she would not.

"Because I’m not gonna change his mind. He's against everything that I stand for," she said, "We need to look at someone else who looks different than us and believes in something that we don’t believe in and still accept them and still let them have their rights."

In just over 100 days in office, President Trump's policies have come under fire, including his controversial immigration ban, which was criticised for discriminating against people from Muslim-majority countries.

His overhaul of former US President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act was criticised on social media for disproportionately affecting low-income individuals and women.

The proposed plan threatens to deny or limit health care coverage for millions of Americans with preexisting conditions that include diabetes, cancer, pregnancy, sexual assault, and HIV/AIDS.
