Dominic West insists marriage to Catherine FitzGerald 'is completely fine', says Rome trip is 'nobody's business'

Dominic West says his marriage to wife Catherine FitzGerald "is completely fine" as she flies to Ireland, leaving him in the UK.

FitzGerald has flown to stay with her mother, Olda, at the family's ancestral Glin Castle home in County Limerick — not unusual, given she works there often.

West, 50, confirmed to the Daily Mail that his wife travelled there on her own.

"She's on a work trip. She's gone by herself," he told the outlet.

When asked if the pair are still together, The Wire star laughed and said they were, despite his recent PDA scandal involving actress Lily James.

"Of course we are [still together], very much together. Our relationship is fine," he said.

He then told the outlet that his trip to Rome, during which he was spotted nuzzling his The Pursuit of Love co-star's neck, is "nobody's business."

In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, West and James, 31, were snapped touring the city together on an electric scooter and later dining at a restaurant, where West was photographed engaging in PDA with the Yesterday star.

Just days after the photos were released, West and FitzGerald responded to reports that they had separated after 10 years of marriage with an affectionate display outside their Wiltshire home in the UK. The couple also put a handwritten note up outside their house that read "Our marriage is strong and we're very much still together. Thank you."

West and Fitzgerald dated after meeting at Trinity College in Dublin, but split after university.

They ended up getting back together, became engaged in 2007 and tied the knot in 2010. The pair share daughters Dora, 13, and Christabel, seven, and sons Senan, 12, and Francis, 11. West also has a daughter, Martha, from a previous relationship.
