Rapper DMX reportedly a huge fan of the Golden Girls, resurfaced interview reveals

Following the death of DMX, several stories and anecdotes of the rapper have been shared by fans and stars.

One notable story comes from actress Gabrielle Union, who reminisced about her time working with the 'Party Up (Up in Here)' hitmaker in a resurfaced clip from 2017.

In the video, Union spoke to Sean Evans on Hot Ones about DMX's love for the hit sitcom, The Golden Girls.

"There was a dog biting incident with one of the PAs who had been sent to go get him, so after a while, no one wanted to go get him so I would be sent because I was a dog person," Union recalled.

"And he'd be like 'Gab, have a drink, going to watch the Golden Girls, this s--t is funny,'" Union added in her best impression. "We would have a Heineken and, sometimes, a little Crown, and watch The Golden Girls. And he would laugh hysterically."

The iconic rapper turned film and TV star died on Friday, April 9 after suffering a heart attack. The Grammy-nominated rapper's family confirmed he had passed away in a New York hospital.

Union was one of many stars who honoured his legacy, writing a lengthy and heartfelt post about her friendship with him.

"I was praying I wouldn't have to think about how to describe what you meant to me," she began. "We bonded over our shared love of dogs, cold beers, Golden Girls reruns, New Edition and adventures."

"You always made the time to look out for folks," her Instagram post concluded. "I am forever grateful for your joy, your laugh, your protection all these years and your hugs anytime I've seen you. You are 1 of 1. Rest in eternal peace my friend. Rest."
