Demi Lovato's ex-fiancé, Max Ehrich, isn't holding back his feelings about their breakup.

The Young and the Restless actor has released a new song titled 'Afraid', just weeks after a messy breakup with the pop star.

Ehrich premiered the song on Instagram, playing a piano while mournfully singing lyrics like "I'm afraid to give up my heart / I'm afraid to lose against love / I'm afraid, afraid to be broken apart / So I play, I play safe / Holding my guard."

While promoting the song, Ehrich said: "It's scary to fall in love. But it's a risk worth taking. for in the end; all we truly need is love."

After dating for just a few months, Ehrich and Lovato got engaged in July of this year. They broke up in mid-September — the actor has been very vocal about their split on social media. He's repeatedly claimed that he only found out about their breakup through the tabloids, and that Lovato used him for publicity.

Lovato has since released a powerful anthem 'Still Have Me', with heartfelt lyrics about living through a breakup but staying true to yourself.

Last week, Ehrich was seen crying at the same Malibu beach where he proposed in July. A source close to Lovato told E! that she's having "issues" trying to get her ex to leave her alone.

"He has been trying to get in contact with her family and friends and they have all blocked him. She's in contact with lawyers now on what to do." They also added that Ehrich is in "denial" that their relationship is over.

"Demi is completely done and doesn't want to see him again at this point," the source said. "She can't believe she fell into his trap and is really upset over it."

'Afraid' is part of a six-track EP that Ehrich is set to release some time in the next few months.
