Cristiano Ronaldo marries Georgina Rodriguez in intimate living room ceremony
Football star Cristiano Ronaldo quietly tied the knot with longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez in a lowkey ceremony – so lowkey, in fact, it happened in their living room.
The couple tied the knot on August 11, exactly 10 years since they first met at a Gucci store in Madrid, and despite endless rumours of a lavish celebration and star-studded guest list, Vogue confirmed the ceremony actually took place at their Portuguese home with only their children in attendance.

“When I was a little girl, I dreamt of the biggest castle, the biggest carriage, the longest dress, a crown full of diamonds. And now I’m saying: no. I want something intimate, with my partner and our children, at home,” Rodriguez told the magazine.
“Because castles, houses, islands, horses, cars: We have all of that within reach every day. But something intimate – that’s more unusual for us.”
To mark their origin story, the couple each dressed in Gucci.
Rodriguez wore a simple white silk shirt and skirt, while Ronaldo had a custom light beige cotton suit.
Their children wore matching looks, also by the fashion house.
After the at-home ceremony, the family attended church for a private mass.
Ronaldo first shared the marriage with an Instagram post of the couple’s hands, showing off their wedding bands. He captioned the post, “C❤️G”.
The couple share five children: Cristiano Jr, Ronaldo’s 16-year-old son from a previous relationship; twins Eva Maria and Mateo, nine; Alana, eight; and Bella, four.
Bella’s twin brother, Angel, died during childbirth.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” they shared at the time.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez first met in 2016 whilst Rodriguez was working as a sales in a Gucci Store. By May that year, they had made their relationship Instagram official.
But Ronaldo took his time getting down on one knee, only proposing to Rodriguez in August 2025.
She shared the news in an Instagram post on August 11, 2025, which displayed a massive rock on her finger.

“Yes I do. In this and in all my lives,” she wrote in the caption, as per an English translation.
Australia’s leading diamond expert, Nick Ireland, told nine.com.au at the time that he estimated the ring to be worth upwards of $5 million, explaining that it appeared to be a D colour grade flawless diamond around 30 carats.
In an interview with Elle Spain, Rodriguez said that she was shocked by the proposal, explaining that at the time, it was the last thing on her mind.

“It took me a long time to process the enormous stone he gave me,” she said.
“I was so shocked that I left it in my room and didn’t open it in the sunlight until the next day ... It’s the least he could offer me after 10 years of waiting.”
