Corey Feldman's highly anticipated documentary experiences technical difficulties during premiere

Technical difficulties have marred the premiere of Corey Feldman's highly anticipated documentary, The Rape of Two Coreys.

The program was much hyped by the former child star, who promised to name and shame his alleged abusers in the film, which he produced and directed himself in an attempt to expose the alleged sexual abuse surrounding Hollywood.

But the film's premiere on Monday night in the US did not go to plan. Users paid US$20 to live stream the documentary on the site, mytruthdoc.com, but soon after the 8pm start time, the site crashed and online viewers were left with an error message when they tried to log back in.

Meanwhile, inside the Directors Guild Theater in LA — where a live screening was taking place — the audience was told that there would be a 15-minute delay as Feldman and his crew tried to resolve the streaming issues.

"The film is starting 15 minutes late due 2 website crashing! Which is actually a good thing! So #StayTuned," Feldman tweeted from the venue. 

While the documentary was eventually aired for those inside the theatre, online viewers still didn't have access two hours later. Instead, a message blaming "hackers" appeared on the screen.

"Please be patient. The hackers are trying to prevent the stream from airing. The program will begin momentarily. We appreciate your patience and support!" read the message.

Frustrated viewers soon took over the film's hashtag #MyTruthTheRapeOf2Coreys. Here were some of the reactions: 

Prior to the film's premiere, Feldman explained that he had hoped to shed light on the alleged paedophiles working in the entertainment industry. And he called upon his former child stars to come forward and stand by him, just like Corey Haim had done. Both actors rose to fame in the '80s, in which they claimed they were both molested by Hollywood heavyweights. 

"I'm very afraid to do this. It's not easy. I've been living in fear and have been living with this my entire life," Feldman told Variety in 2017. "As most victims have, I've been made to feel awkward, misunderstood, and I've been degraded at great levels. Rumours have been told, stories have been made up about me. And I've been insulted and degraded in ways that were unimaginable to me. All because they fear what I know as the truth."
