Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst looks very different now: See the transformation

He was the glamtastic drag queen who took out the Eurovision title for Austria in 2014, but Conchita Wurst looks very different now.

Three years on, the 28-year-old popstar (birth name: Thomas Neuwirth) is favouring a far more masculine look: less sparkle and a pared back approach to style.

Still, the famous beard remains (albeit, a little bushier).

It looks as though Thomas is taking a more natural approach to Conchita's hair, sporting a curlier, thicker look.

And if we're going by Instagram, it would appear the transformation has been a slow one, with the popstar gradually slipping into traditionally masculine clothing, as opposed to the glamorous gowns she once wore.  

According to German newspaper Die Welt, Thomas revealed earlier this year that it may in fact be time to retire his alter-ego, Conchita.

"I feel like I want to create a new person," he told the publication. "With the bearded lady, I have achieved everything I wanted since the Song Contest victory."

The LGBTQ activist, who attended last year's Mardi Gras party and performed at the Sydney Opera House hinted that it was time for the "real Tom" to stand up.

“[Tom] wants to get out, show himself," Tom said, adding, "I have to kill her."
