Married at First Sight star Cheryl Maitland shares pictures of boyfriend in hospital

Former Married at First Sight star, Cheryl Maitland, took to social media to share pictures of her boyfriend at Queensland’s Robina Hospital on Friday night.

Since failing to find love with Andrew 'Jonesy' Jones on the reality show, the 25-year-old has been enjoying a blossoming new romance with disgraced former policeman and convicted drug trafficker Dean Gibbs, 31.

And taking to her Instagram stories in the early hours of Saturday morning, the former hairdresser posted photos of Dean lying down in a hospital bed.

He appeared to be waiting for a medical professional, with a bandage wrapped around his left forearm.

She then uploaded a short clip, alongside the tag "Saturday night", without explaining the events surrounding her boyfriend’s injury.

Dean also shared two pictures of his wound being tended to by a nurse.

The images depict a cut on his left forearm, with a blue line drawn around the injured area.

He captioned the first photo "y tho", while the other showcased an IV drip inserted into his hand.

The following day, Cheryl posted an update on Instagram, showcasing Dean relaxing in bed at home.

She also uploaded a surprise present from her beau, which he bought as a way to express his appreciation for taking care of him.

A message left for her read: "Thank you for taking care of me bubby! (love) you with all my heart xoxo. P.S Open your middle draw."

It was then revealed he had purchased her a box of gluten-free donuts.

The couple recently told NW magazine how Dean fell in love with Cheryl after watching her on Married at First Sight. 

"He’d seen me on the show and just sent me a really long message, not really expecting anything," she said.

"Then it just kind of… One thing led to another, I guess."
