Chateau chic! Kim scouts fake French castle for wedding during Paris trip with Kanye

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are one step closer to their dream Parisian wedding... and they're seeking the royal treatment!

Kim scouted the Chateau Louis XIV in Louveciennes, 22km outside of Paris, as a potential wedding venue on Sunday.

Modelled on a 17th-century French castle and completed in 2011, the 23-hectare estate has everything a reality star queen could dream of: marble staircases, a 50ft-high grand salon, lavish gardens and fountains, and an underwater lounge room built under moats.

The 33-year-old spent an hour meeting with the staff and appeared "excited to be there", an eyewitness told E! Online, before hopping back into her ride to meet up with fiancé Kanye.

The star couple have been hot-footing it in Paris since Saturday, going on high-end shopping sprees (including purchases from Givenchy, Balmain and Lanvin), fancy lunches and strutting the streets in designer threads. We're loving Kim's uber-elegant embellished dresses... très chic!

According to X-17 Online, the couple haven't settled on Chateau Louis XIV yet though, still on the hunt for a grand private estate or chateau "that can offer privacy and security". Nothing like getting hitched in a faux French castle to attract attention!

Back in January, Kimye were rejected from having their wedding at the Palace of Versailles, built in the 17th-century and formerly home to Marie Antoinette.

The couple, who have been together two years, are set to marry on May 24.
