Retired tennis star Caroline Wozniacki welcomes first child with husband David Lee

Caroline Wozniacki has welcomed her first baby.

The retired Danish tennis star shared the exciting news with her Instagram followers on June 15, revealing she and husband David Lee are the proud parents of a baby girl.

"Family of 3❤️ Olivia Wozniacki Lee, born on June 11, 2021👨‍👩‍👧💖," the new mum captioned a family photo with their new addition.

Lee, a retired NBA player who played for the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors, posted the exact same photo to his Instagram but added the hashtag #girldad in his caption.

The couple's famous friends were quick to congratulate the pair on social media, with American skier Lindsey Vonn and British tennis player Naomi Broady among the first to comment. 

"Congrats!!! So happy for you!!!" Vonn wrote, while Broady said, "Welcome little Olivia ❤️❤️❤️ congratulations Mum and Dad."

Wozniacki, 30, and Lee, 38, were engaged in 2017 and married in June 2019 in a stunning ceremony in Castiglion del Bosco, Italy. Six months after their nuptials, Wozniacki announced she was retiring from tennis to focus on starting a family with Lee.

"I've always told myself, when the time comes, that there are things away from tennis that I want to do more, then it's time to be done," she wrote in an Instagram post at the time. "In recent months, I've realized that there is a lot more in life that I'd like to accomplish off the court.

"Getting married to David was one of those goals and starting a family with him while continuing to travel the world … This has nothing to do with my health and this isn't a goodbye, I look forward to sharing my exciting journey ahead with all of you!"
