Caitlyn Jenner sees what it's like to be a 'trans bride' in mock wedding with her pal
She was a groom three times as Bruce, but now Caitlyn Jenner has gotten a taste of what it's like to be a bride.
In a new preview for Sunday's episode of I Am Cait, the 66-year-old was initially shocked to see herself in a wedding gown – in a good way.
"Did I ever think this day would come? No," Caitlyn said, "I've been in three weddings with the most boring clothes on in life. Finally, I get to wear something comfortable."
But there's a symbolic weight to the moment that goes beyond the lace and veils.
As Caitlyn's friend Candis Cayne points out, marriage "wasn't even an option for trans women" in the past. So, Caitlyn and Candis traded mock vows in a cute moment officiated by their friend, author Kate Bornstein, who pronounced them "trans bride and trans bride".
If Caitlyn does get the chance to marry again, she'll have no shortage of bridesmaids and groomsmen from her six kids and four stepchildren.
Plus, she has options for flower girls and pageboys from her three grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. North West, care to do the honours?
