In her new memoir, Caitlyn Jenner reveals that she has undergone gender reassignment surgery nearly two years after announcing her transition from male to female publicly.

Radar Online published excerpts reportedly from her upcoming book, The Secrets of My Life, which hits stores on April 25. The 67-year-old revealed that she completed the procedure in January 2017.

"The surgery was a success, and I feel not only wonderful but liberated," she writes.

She says she made the decision in part after constantly being prodded by fans over whether she intended to keep the male genitalia she was born with. She also says she wanted to be freed from the daily burden of tucking away her penis.

"So why even consider it? Because it’s just a penis. It has no special gifts or use for me other [than]what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods," she writes. "I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time."

"I am going to live authentically for the first time in my life," she writes of how she felt after undergoing the procedure, where the penis and testicles are removed and the remaining skin is surgically repaired to create a vagina and clitoris.

"I am going to have an enthusiasm for life that I have not had in 39 years since the Olympics, almost two thirds of my life."
