Bruce Springsteen shares an update after cancelling shows due to ill health

Bruce Springsteen has taken to Instagram to share a health update.

The singer recently cancelled a series of European shows under his doctor's direction.

He's now shared an update, letting the fans know he will indeed be back.

"Hey, this is Bruce Springsteen, I'm in Marseilles," he said in a video recorded from his balcony.

"Unfortunately, I could not sing for you, but we will be back to Marseilles, to Prague, and to Milan to give you the show of your life, that I promise you.

"In the meantime I'd like to thank our Irish fans, our British fans, our fans in Wales, for giving us a series of shows that's deeply memorable and we just had great times, great times," he continued.

"We'll be back in Madrid and Barcelona where we plan to rock you into the ground!"

Just the day prior, Springsteen shared his plan to cancel his shows in Prague and Milan, set for May 28 and June 1 and 3, due to ill health.

"Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band to Postpone Prague and Milan Shows Under Doctor's Direction, European Stadium Tour Resumes June 12 in Madrid," read a post on Instagram.

The news came after a show in Marseille was postponed "due to vocal issues".

"Following yesterday's postponement in Marseille due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days," the statement read.

Fans were offered refunds for the postponed shows, and he confirmed he would return to the stage on June 12 in Madrid.

Springsteen was diagnosed with Peptic Ulcer Disease last year.

He initially shared fears that he would never sing again, however took six months off performing to recover and has since returned to performing.
