Brooke Shields' daughter wears her 1998 Golden Globes dress to prom: 'Proud mama!'

Brooke Shields has shared a touching prom moment with her daughter.

The Blue Lagoon actress, 56, posted a photo of herself with daughter Rowan Francis, 18, who was wearing the strapless red gown her mother originally wore to the 1998 Golden Globes.

"I thought it was a special night when I was nominated for a Golden Globe and wore this dress in 1998, but nothing could have prepared me to see my daughter wearing it to her prom," Shields captioned her Instagram post on the weekend. "Proud mama!"

Shields shares daughters Rowan and Grier Hammond, 15, with her husband Chris Henchy, 57, whom she married in 2001. The family lives together in New York City.

In an interview with People in 2019, Shields opened up about her struggle with body image. She said her daughters are helping her change her perspective.

"Their bodies are so important to them," she told the publication. "Whatever you say is heard, so you have to really be careful how you say whatever it is you're saying to girls in particular. I really have to be like, 'How would this sound if it was said to me at 13?' I celebrate the differences in their bodies."

"My daughters say I'm curvy. To them curvy is different. I watch them celebrate it," Shields added. "I'm learning from them and they always say you're better off with something that shows your body rather than a muumuu."
