Britney Spears' boyfriend Sam Asghari looks forward to 'amazing future' with singer in wake of new documentary

Britney Spears' boyfriend Sam Asghari has spoken out following the release of an unauthorised documentary about the singer. 

Many fans have expressed their support for the pop star after last week's premiere of Framing Britney Spears, which details the pop star's life from her childhood to her conservatorship. And while Spears herself has yet to speak out on the film, Asghari praised the singer for her courage while also thanking her loyal fanbase. 

"I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," the 27-year-old told People. "I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together."

Celebrities have also vocalised their support for 39-year-old Spears, who is currently embroiled in a legal battle with her father, Jamie. Sarah Jessica Parker and Bette Midler simply tweeted, "#FreeBritney", while Miley Cyrus' showed her support during a pre-Super Bowl performance on Sunday.

"We love Britney," Cyrus said on stage. 

Meanwhile, Paramore's lead vocalist Hayley Williams tweeted, "No artist today would have to endure the literal torture that media/society/utter misogynists inflicted upon her. The mental health awareness conversation, culturally, could never be where it is without the awful price she has paid."

Jamie, 68, has served as the conservator of his daughter's finances since 2008. But in recent times, Spears has requested through her attorney to have her father removed.

Spears and Asghari first met on the set of her 'Slumber Party' music video in 2016, where he was her backup dancer, and they began dating later that year.

"I was excited that I get to meet one of the biggest artists of all time," Asghari recalled to Men's Health in an interview at the time. "I had butterflies."

And their relationship keeps going from strength to strength, with both clearly smitten with one another.

"I can't believe I wake up every morning to this man," Spears told her fans on Instagram recently.
